Grocery store customer pays for stranger's groceries after overhearing her talk about financial struggles, gets criticized by girlfriend for overstepping: ‘You made her feel small’

When you are in a relationship, you expect your partner to keep you in check. Honesty is a crucial part of that partnership, and one should always be honest with their partner and let them know when they are in the wrong. They might have said something out of line to their parents, or even acted unkindly to a stranger on the street, whatever it may be, they can count on their loved one to help them become better versions of themselves.

The girlfriend in the story below, however, is doing the exact opposite.

Her boyfriend is a working man who has enough money to live a comfortable life, so every once in a while, he likes to use that money to help other people. His latest good deed was when he overheard a woman in the grocery store talking on the phone and saying she was struggling to afford the food in her cart, so he paid her bill for her.
